Abstract
Eleven soil samples were randomly collected under the landfill area, which located between Bnaslawa district and Daratoo County at Arbil city during June (2011).Ten of samples were polluted and one sample of them was outside of the landfill as a control sample. The study location has a total area of (25) donnums = (62500 m2). The samples were taken from soil surface (0-30) cm depth at all sites .The study was aimed to determine the relationship between soil physical and chemical properties such as moisture, texture, calcium carbonate and organic matter — etc with spectral reflectance ranges . Physical and chemical analysis were carried out of soil samples and the soil sample prepared to taking the reflectance value of the samples by using Analytical Spectral Device (ASD) Field Spec 3 Spectroradiometer, the results clarified the highest value of spectral reflectance was at the location number (9) this may be related to the soil properties like calcium carbonate content or electrical conductivity –etc, while the lowest reflectance value at the location number (11) control sample which related with the Organic matter or Moisture percentage – etc.
